Chateau Mouton Rothschild

48 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles Rossignol-Fevrier Pinot Noir (Burgundy).

This is the area to drink Pinot Noir more terroir driven than any New World Pinot Noir, stylishly elegant and delicate and the lingering character of good Volnay.

49 Chevalier de Chateau Lascombes Margaux (Bordeaux).

The 2nd wine of Chateau Lasombes. This is a beautiful, elegant claret with velvety tannins and a cassis fruit character. The 200 vintage has developed complex earthy tones.

50 Brunello di Montalcino Altesino Sangiovese (Tuscany Italy)
From Jancis Robinson...But the wine we all agreed was absolutely outstanding, drinking beautifully now and epitomised great Italian wine in a way that a Cabernet blend never will was Altesino 2001 Brunello di Montalcino. This classically-styled, all-Sangiovese red has already developed a haunting bouquet, is delicately medium bodied, shows no trace of obvious oak, but is firmly assertive and could only be a Brunello from one of Montalcino’s more senior, more distinctive vineyards. Altesino in the far north of the Montalcino zone has long been a standard-bearer for Montalcino.

51 Pinot Noir Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos St Marc Bouchard Pere et Fils
A Burgundy endowed with a lovely ruby colour and a delicately spiced nose infused with cherries and vibrant fruit.

52 Les Pagodes de Cos de Chateau Cos D'Estournel  St Estephe. Ranked amongst the super seconds, hints of strawberry, cassis, ruby red with a hint of white pepper.

53 Reserve de Chateau Leoville Barton St Julien.

The soft richness of this wine is underpinned by good balance and acidity. Very Good.

54 Segla de Chateau Rausan-Segla Margaux
The second wine from classed growth Rausan-Segla, deep ruby red puple tinged Margaux, elegant and ideal for drinking.

55 Reserve de La Comtesse de Chateau Pichon Lalande Pauillac.
A seductive nose of super ripe creamy black fruits with well integrated oak. Tremendous value

56 Bahans de Chateau Haut Brion 1er Cru Pessac-Lognan, Graves
Dark ruby colour followed by earthy, smoky, cherry, mulberry and currant aromas, spicy and meaty.

57-59. Domaine Pierre Usseglio
This is premier league Chateauneuf. The brothers Jean-Pierre and Thierry have transformed their father's estate.  Full bodied, smoky wines offer up black plum fruits a long long finish. Notorious for bery low yields and traditional winemaking.
