Wine Tasting Notes

Rules specialises in wines from the Rhone Valley with enough flavour or structure to compliment the richly scented meats & herby marinades used in our game dishes. The Northern sector of the Rhone Valley is mostly single cepage wines and small domains, many of which still farm cherries, apples & apricots as well as making good wine.

In the Southern Rhone the feeling is Mediterranean, the landscape enchanting & dramatic. Everyone loves the Rhone, the exquisite climate, the wonderful scenery, the relaxed lifestyle which is so quintessentially French. We make 4 or 5 trips a year to meet our suppliers, tasting in their cellars, as many as 50 different wines.
