St. Martins-in-the-Fields Social Care Unit 6 St Martins Place, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 4JJ
The Social care Unit offers services of care and resettlement throughout the year to their clientele of people who are homeless, isolated from friends and family, or carrying the burdens of disability or personal problems.
As one of the longest established agencies in the West End they have developed a structure and approach which seeks to meet the needs of people as they really are. The Week-end Soup Kitchen serves 300 to 400 people per day every Saturday and Sunday. It offers unconditional welcome and referral to week-day services of their Day Centre, Personal Welfare Service, Medical Centre and Resettlement Team. This latter service, largely funded by the Department of the Environment, is invaluable in opening the door to independent living for people otherwise with little hope.
